This section will show you what I've done to my current patch as well as my new section that I've started to dig out to get it ready for the summer crop.  I was hoping to get this up and running much sooner but it's been pretty cold and wet so I haven't gone outdoors as much as I would have liked.  It will take a couple of weeks before I've finished this section so bear with me.

Above are photos I've been taking while digging out my newest part of the veggie patch, in the first two photos you will see that I've taken out an old Apple tree that wasn't looked after too well by the past owners and it will be much easier for me to buy a new one and I'm sure it will give more than 4 or 5 apples.

1. dig over grass, 2. shake out remanding soil from grass, 3. Dig down to loosen up soil as well as taking out any tree roots from apple tree and anything else that shouldn't be there (I've already found a whole bottle and golf balls).

In both my current and new patch I will be turning over the soil, adding the contents of my compost bin as well as all my newspapers that have been collecting over the past year, I'll also be adding some blood and bone and with any luck it will be ready for planting within the next two months. (So I better get a move on)

I'll be adding more photos of what I've been doing as well as more info on how you can get your patch ready for next crop.
